The Ministry’s focus is to enforce the State Environmental Policies with a view to addressing environmental and ecological issues such as sanitation and waste management, deforestation, erosion and flood, pollution, climate change mitigation and adaptation, conservation, wildlife management etc. The elements of this policy framework include but definitely not limited to the aforementioned areas.

ABOUT US

The Ministry of Environment is a professional Ministry involved in the formulation of policies/strategies for the achievement of the State Government goals and objectives in Environment – related matters.

In order to adequately discharge its statutory functions, the Ministry has been structured into eight (8) departments made up of five professional and three mandatory service departments.
